Autumn’s Abundance; an afternoon of seasonal food and flowers

Autumn – As the days noticeably shorten we are starting to be introduced to a  whole range of new and interesting floral material and food stuffs; berries, fruits, seed heads in vibrant and muted tones.  It is the most colourful and ever changing season.

Here at the Kitchen, we’d love you to come and join us for an afternoon of creativity and enjoy the flowers, foliage and food of the harvest season.

We delighted to, once again, welcome back local floral designer, Fiona West,  this time to help you make a  botanical table design using the riches of the season’s foliage, flowers and berries.

Having been welcomed with a warming mulled apple drink, Fiona will do a short demo to show you how to construct an eco conscious design without using floral foam, and the how to work with nature to achieve the best out of the botanicals. Then it will  be over to you to create your own unique and bespoke arrangement. 

Fiona had a successful teaching career in a past life and has trained in foam free design with ‘Will and Kate’s’ wedding florist so you can be certain of the highest quality tuition, guidance and support every step of the way. 

Once you’ve made your designs you’ll be able to photograph them in a seasonally styled setting. Perfect for the insta lovers among you. 

We’ll do a quick tidy up and then Angela will do a demo how to make that seasonal favourite  we all think we know about but never actually cook -pumpkin pie.   She’ll show you top tips and tricks to decorate this sweet-baked wholesome goody and transform it away from a humble plate pie.

We’ll style the long table into an insta-worthy seasonal setting; think mini pumpkins, nuts and berries and softly folded runners and tapered candles. We’ll give you insights into how to recreate the effects for your own supper or side table. 

Then it’ll be time for a candlelit meal. We’ll be setting out our deepest bowls, filling and refilling them with a  nourishing and creamy soup, accompanied by tasty cheesy scones,  while you chat away with other  friendly  guests.  This will wrap up with the golden-baked, pumpkin pie complete with Angela’s pastry decorations. Bake off, eat your heart out. 

You’ll leave our Autumn’s Abundance with new found skills that you can use time and time again,  a beautiful design to gift away or to keep and admire yourself and, no doubt a warm glow inside. What’s not to like?
