Terms and Conditions

All places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis upon receipt of a debit/credit card payment, with all confirmation provided by email.

All communication with you will be via the email address you used to make the booking. Your email address will be added to our mailing list to keep you up to date with all our classes and events. You can unsubscribe at any time.

The workshops presented on our website may be subject to change at short notice if certain ingredients are not available. Very occasionally we may need to cancel or postpone a workshop and, in such circumstances, we will contact you by email and schedule new dates.

If you are no longer able to attend the course you booked on, please let us know as soon as possible, via email to office@atthekitchen.co.uk

What’s included in a workshop?

When you attend one of our workshops, we provide you with all cooking ingredients, crockery, utensils, knives, kitchen equipment and aprons. One of the objectives of the workshops is that you get to try the food you will make; however, this may not always be the case and may vary with each workshop.

It is necessary that we reserve the right to change course content and recipes without notice.

How skillful a cook do I need to be?

This depends on the workshop you wish to attend, and the final decision is yours to make. If you are unsure whether a course is right for you, get in touch by email to office@atthekitchen.co.uk and we’ll help you out. However, we cannot be held liable if you book a course that is below or above you cooking ability.

Health & Safety

You should wear flat shoes with nonslip soles and covered toes – we are unable to let you join a course if your footwear is not appropriate (hot liquids, knives being the some of the reasons!). The same sensible approach needs to be taken with clothing – don’t wear your best clothes! If you have long hair, please ensure it is tied up and out of your way. There will be a short health and safety briefing before each workshop starts.

Allergies and preventing illness

Please ensure you let us know about any food allergies you may have so we can prepare appropriately.

We cannot change workshop content if you have any allergies unless you are booking a minimum of 10 places on the course, however please call us to discuss this well in advance and we will do our best to provide you with the best workshop we can.

After a workshop has finished you can take home any food you have prepared and cooked; we will provide guidance on its storage and how soon it should be used, however we cannot be held liable once food has left our premises.

Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers will either be emailed or posted to the address you provide us with and are not refundable in any circumstances.

However, they transferable to another person; please let us know who the new contact is.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the nature of the workshops once a booking is made, it cannot be cancelled or refunded. It is possible to transfer 80% of the value of any course booked to a later course if this is completed at least 72 hours prior to the date of the original course booked.

We are not able to offer refunds or late notice amendments to classes where customers are unable to reach us due to adverse weather conditions, sickness, grievance or accidental injury.

The decision to travel to one of our workshops in bad weather is one you have to make, however do not take any risks. If you cannot attend a workshop let us know as soon as possible. You can send someone else in your place, but again please let us know.

We understand that adverse weather conditions are not your fault when it stops you attending a workshop, however please understand that it is also not our fault. We will run our workshops where even just one person is able to make it to At The Kitchen.

As a goodwill gesture during periods of adverse weather, we will look to transfer you to another course where there is availability. No refund or credit will be offered where the replacement class is of a lower value than the original class. Customers wishing to book onto a more expensive class will be asked to top up the difference.

Behaviour

If we consider that you have behaved in an unacceptable manner, we will be entitled to exclude you from any course you are currently enrolled on or booked in the future. If we are unable to reallocate your place, no refund of fees will be made.

Liability

At The Kitchen will not accept responsibility for:

  • the loss of any personal possessions

  • any loss suffered by you which is indirect, special or consequential

  • any loss suffered by you resulting from any event which is beyond our reasonable control

The acknowledgement or processing of an order does not constitute legal acceptance of your order. An order is deemed accepted only upon receipt of full payment for the total value of the order.

You confirm that by placing an order and providing payment, you accept all of the contractual terms between us and that no failure or delay by At The Kitchen in enforcing any of its rights under the Contract shall be deemed to be a waiver of such right.
